The Missions Purpose
The crowning purpose of the Reseda church is the Mission Purpose. It represents our highest expressions of God's love, which is the love of others. Missions grow out of church maturity, which means experiencing the fullness of God's love (agape). God's love enables believers to become leaders and equippers of others. God's love provides the church with the capacity to love those who represent "otherness" in their beliefs and values. It enables the church to embrace those we do not agree with in order to affect them by love and ultimately infuse them with God's truth.
Missions aim to address five global problems of evil. These problems can be described as Global Giants inasmuch as they are universal of humanity. They are as follows:
- Spiritual Alienation:
- Self-Serving Leadership:
- Extreme Poverty:
- Pandemic Diseases:
- Rampant Illiteracy:
Our Mission strategy at the Reseda church is called Out-R.E.A.C.H. The acrostic represents our strategic plan for addressing the five global problems of evil. The acrostic R.E.A.C.H. identifies the strategic objectives of our Mission Purpose:
- R - Reach And Reconcile The Lost: To address Spiritual Alienation.
- E - Educate And Encourage The Youth: To address rampant illiteracy
- A - Assist And Advise The Poor: To address extreme poverty
- C - Connect And Care For The Sick: To address pandemic diseases
- H - Help And Heal the hurting: To address spiritual and social ills of the world
