The Missions Department


The crowning purpose of the Reseda church is missions because it represents our highest expressions of God's love, the love of others.  Missions grow out of church maturity, which means experiencing the fullness of God's love (agape).  God's love enables believers to become leaders and disciplers of others.  God's love provides the church with the capacity to love those represent "otherness" in their beliefs and values.  It enables the church to embrace those we do not agree with in order to affect them by love and ultimately infect them with God's truth.

The P.E.A.C.E. Missions approach is our strategy to have every small group in our church become engaged in solving the five biggest problems in the world: Spiritual Lostness, Lack of Godly Leaders, Poverty, Disease, and Lack of Education.

What is The Problem?

There are five giant problems that affect billions of people on our planet. These problems can be called the Global Giants. They are as follows:

  1. Spiritual Emptiness: Billions live without hope, and in conflict with God and consequently others. They don’t know that they are not an accident, and that Jesus Christ died for them so that their past can be forgiven, they can have a purpose for living, and they can have a home in heaven.

  2. Self-Serving Leadership: Jesus said leadership is about serving, and if you want to be great, learn to be the servant of all. The goal of leadership is not to see how many people help you, but how many people you help.

  3. Extreme Poverty: Half the world lives on less than two dollars a day—three billion people are in extreme poverty.

  4. Pandemic Diseases: Billions of people are still dying or suffering from diseases that we know the cure for, and that’s unconscionable.

  5. Rampant Illiteracy: Half the population of the world—three billion people—is functionally illiterate. How can anybody make it in the twenty-first century if they can’t read or write?


These problems loom so large that no one person or organization can provide significant relief. The United Nations hasn’t been the solution. Governments haven’t. Businesses haven’t. None of these have the advantages the church has. The Church has the biggest distribution, the most people, and the greatest motivation—love.

The Solution

These five global giants ravage the lives of billions of people worldwide.

These giants work together to constrain and prevent masses of people from knowing the saving grace of a loving God who sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins allowing us eternal hope and security. There is no organization or government that can effectively eradicate these giants. The only successful solution is the global Church of Christ.

The PEACE plan is a massive effort to mobilize Christians around the world into an outreach effort to attack the five giants, evil giants of our day.

Simply put, the PEACE Plan is about ordinary people, empowered by God, making a different together wherever they are.

PEACE can empower and equip each member of a local church to address these global giants in a holistic manner throughout their local community (Jerusalem), nearby communities (Judea), regional area crossing cultural barriers (Samaria), and globally (to the entire world). This will be done by carrying out sustainable and reproducible actions of P.E.A.C.E.



The Plan

  • PROMOTE AND PRACTICE RECONCILIATION: To address the Giant of Spiritual Emptiness.

  • EQUIP AND EMPOWER SERVANT LEADERSHIP: To address the Giant of corrupt leadership

  • ASSIST AND ADVISE THE POOR: To address the Giant of extreme poverty

  • CARE AND COMFORT FOR THE SICK: To address the Giant of pandemic diseases and care for those who suffer from them.

  • ENCOURAGE AND EDUCATE THE NEXT GENERATION: To address the Giant of illiteracy and lack of education.
