Membership (Fellowship) Department

The church have been commissioned by the Lord to make disciples of the nations and baptized them into fellowship with God and His people.  This is purpose of connecting people relationally for the purpose of discovering membership in the body of Christ, His church.  Fellowship is initiated by making followers as Jesus did.  We make disciples of the unbelieving world by first connecting with them relationally.  In Scripture, this purpose is described as the ministry of reconciliation.  God was in Christ "reconciling the world to Himself and He has given to us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:18).  Our means of fulfilling this purpose is through small groups.  We promote large group events for the express purpose of introducing unconnected people to small group fellowships.

The ministry target of the Membership Department is our guests.  Our ministry goal is to assist all  prospective members in discovery membership in the family of God, which means to discover that the Reseda church is a great place to B.E.L.O.N.G. We’re here to help you take your next steps, which are as follows:

B - become a follower of Jesus Christ through obedient faith.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” (Acts 2:41) Next step: Get in contact with our Membership Dept for Baptism.

E - embrace a life of purpose through the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

’Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. ‘And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:36-40) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19) Next step: Sign up for Christian Life and Services Seminar (C.L.A.S.S.) 101.

L - live life together in the context of a small group.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42) Next step: Begin now to find a small group in your area.

O - offer your time and resources to others.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10) Next step: Check out ways you can serve at the Reseda church.

N - nurture relationships within the community by sharing your faith in Christ.

“In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15) Next step: Take steps to share your faith. Visit Personal P.E.A.C.E. to learn how.

G - grow in spiritual health.

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31) Next step: Become more like Christ with the help of our Spiritual Growth Team.
